Day 22: Will Power and Dedication

Whew! Hey everyone, :)
Sorry I haven't written a blog in SIX DAYS!! Things got super busy, and I haven't had time to do this in a while. Though, tonight, I had time so I figured I'd check in with you guys and tell you what's goin on... Haha, I'm not even sure where to start... But for one, with the new band (Me, Kolby, Mark and Ralph) Ralph has agreed to be the temporary bassist. Everything sounds AMAZING by the way; his equipment is outstanding! Lol. But anyway, he let me borrow a lot of his guitar pedals (stomp boxes) and a pedal board (keeps them organized on stage) and a few microphones. There's a ton more, but this was the main stuff... Today I set it all up to how I want it on stage. It's all organized and ready to be taken back and forth between shows. I wish I could take a picture of it and show you how cool it looks, :) lol. The tickets for my show at Sunshine Studios Live also came in today (thanks to Maddix Jay and Julien Depolo). The set lists for all my shows this month are being organized as we speak. So far, it's lookin pretty solid. :) I really hope to see you guys there. I will be able to come hang out and stuff after my show. So if you come, don't forget to come say hi :) lol. I won't have any swag (merchandice) at the show, but as long as enough people come, I'll be able to have some at future shows. And, just fyi, I probably won't be blogging again for a while because of this AP exam I have to study for, and taking the time to perfect more of my songs for talent show on the 13th. (super excited!) but hopefully I'll be back soon. :). Till then, I wanted to share with you guys some info for success regarding will power and dedication. It's mostly a type of mindset. Will power is simply just the concept of doing things, even when you don't want to do them (a lot like taking out the trash when it's windy and snowing)... Nobody wants to do it, yet someone has to do it. Thats just how it is. Lol. And dedication is just taking the time make sure you put yourself in the mindset to following through with whatever it is (usually a goal) that you started with. When it comes to making music, writing songs, or preparing for a performance, these two mindsets are VITAL in being able to get somewhere. Now, obviously, music isn't the only place that they apply to... You can (and should) apply them to every goal you start. I know I do. Yeah, having the end in mind and knowing how to get there is great, but when it gets gritty half way through, you HAVE to know you can finish and thet you won't give up in the middle somewhere. There WILL be things you don't feel like doing sometimes... That's a given... But working on aquiring these habits of doing the things you don't want to will IMMENSELY improve your odds of achieving that ending you pictured and desired to have at the end of your goal. :). Sounds easy right? Sure. But their not. These two are probably some of the hardest mindsets and habits to aquire and get use to. It definitely takes practice... And even then, you'll have that little urge to just do what you feel like doing instead of what may need to get done that you don't feel like doing. But, one way or another, it pays off every-single-time, as long as you stick with it. I can promise that. :) Also, I put all this information into my blog, not because I want to force people to do it, but merely because I know it works for me, so (for the people who are interested) maybe they'll want to try it out too and see if it works for them. Who knows, it might be the start to a chain reaction that spreads all over the place. :) wether it's right or wrong isn't the issue... It's a matter of who is willing to try it. For some, it could just be a reminder of what they use to do, and it sets them back on track... Or maybe people read this who already have the same ideas and it just helps them keep it in mind. I just want to make a reference for everyone to be able to come to that wraps up all these concepts and shows them how their played out, and possinly inspire the lucky few who try it. :) well, I'll talk to you guys soon... And remember, Anything Is Possible.
Signed,
Thomas Thomas II
